The first letters are about 'colonial documents' sent to him by Rita Hinden at the request of Creech Jones (fols. 143-145). Correspondence in 1946-1947 was concerned with the question of the administration of flogging as a punishment in civil and military cases in the colonies, particularly in Sudan (fols. 144-150).
