Correspondence between Rita Hinden, Marjorie Nicholson, and Dr Hastings Banda, practising as a medical doctor in England, chiefly concerning the Nyasaland African Congress, of which he was official representative in Britain (fol. 22); with references to African representation (fols. 16-20, 27, 63) and the Nyasaland (Malawi) Convention of Associations (fols. 46-58). Banda's letters also include:

  1. frequent requests for the FCB to enquire into specific issues and arrange for Questions to be asked
  2. references to membership for fellow-countrymen, and help needed by students
  3. his changing attitude in 1946 to the Labour Government (fols. 39-45).
