Arthur Creech Jones: correspondence with the Fabian Colonial Bureau (Hilda Selwyn-Clarke and others) concerned with administration and publications of the Bureau; meetings with political leaders and delegates from colonial territories; his own visits to West Africa (1956), Malaya (Malaysia) (1957), and the West Indies (1958); and colonial problems, particularly in Central Africa.

Contains correspondence between Arthur Creech Jones and the Fabian Colonial Bureau, of which he became Chairman for the second time in 1959, having been Chairman of the Working Committee since Mar 1955. Unless otherwise indicated, letters to Creech Jones are from Hilda Selwyn-Clarke, Secretary to the Bureau until 1961.

The correspondence, which covers the last, ten years of Creech Jones's life, is similar in content to that filed among the 'Correspondence with Members of Parliament', and apart from the first letter continues the chronological sequence contained in MSS. Brit. Emp. s. 365/20 (2), folder 5 (fols. 126-168). There is no indication as to why this separate file was compiled. It includes obituary notices that appeared after his death on 23 Oct 1964.

Correspondence with Creech Jones when Under-Secretary and Secretary of State for the Colonies is filed in MSS. Brit. Emp. s. 365/25. Additional correspondence with him occurs in all sections of the Collection.
