The first letter is from Sarawak to John Brooke Brooke with a copy (fols. 133-136), stating that he had been present when Sir James Brooke handed over the Government of Sarawak to John Brooke Brooke; and 18 letters to Charles Grant, chiefly about Cruickshank's application for the post of Deputy Governor of Perth General Prison, for which Grant recommended him to Sir W. Stirling Maxwell.
