(fols. 1-48) Manuscript diary, 31 Jul 1947-14 Feb 1948, written in 'Malaya Exercise Book', from which many pages were torn out and inserted loosely. Entries for 5-15 Oct 1947 are missing but appear in typed copy (fols. 88-89). Copies of two letters are included in the manuscript:
- (fol. 14v) letter from Kathleen Brooke in Marudi to Captain Morgan about arrangements for her travel up-river, 4 Aug 1947
- (fol. 44v) letter from the Resident [at Kuching, Mr Morse] about her proposed visit to Quop, 22 Nov [1947].

The first page is headed 'Introducing Donald and first knowledge of Sarawak' and describes her first meeting with Anthony Brooke and her marriage to him in Rangoon (Yangon) on 14 Nov 1939 (pp. 1-3). A later section (pp. 27-64) contains diary entries, 28 Oct 1939-13 Oct 1941. It also contains a chronology of her tour, and diary entries, 29 Jul-31 Dec 1947 (pp. 4-26), n.d.
