- (fols. 2-5) (2) letter from Kathleen Brooke in Kuching about her arrival there; her reception by the Aikmans and Andersons; MacBryan's call; favourable impressions of Kuching; her plans for travelling to Australia; and the Rajah's plan to leave for Australia in Nov, 24 Aug 1941
- (fols. 6-8) (3) letter from Kathleen Brooke at Raffles Hotel, Singapore, about her arrival and that of her brother Donald's wife; people from Miri trying to get jobs in defence offices to enable them to stay in Malaya (Malaysia); and her proposal to rejoin Anthony Brooke rather than to go to Australia, 25 Aug 1941
- (fols. 9-13) (4 and 5) two letters from Kathleen Brooke in Singapore, about social activities; her move to Government House; and the possibilities of finding work in Singapore, 27 and 28 Aug 1941
- (fols. 14-28) (6) letter from Anthony Brooke in Bintulu, about his work as District Officer; and advice to Kathleen Brooke to 'hang on in Singapore' unless things got bad, and to do light war work, 28 Aug 1941.
