Vol. 1, 1925-1934:
Album (pp. 1-139) of cuttings from British and foreign (chiefly Malayan (Malaysian)) newspapers, and a few other papers concerning Mrs Brooke and her family. On p. 31 is pasted a reprint from the journal of the Société de Géographie, Paris, of an article by her in French, 'Le pays des Rajahs blancs'. Papers that were inserted loosely in the album comprise:
- (fol. 1-2) holograph letter from F. Cole to Mr [Walter] Palmer, enclosing a primrose from Mr [George] Meredith for Mrs Palmer, mother of Gladys Brooke, n.d.
- (fol. 3) cutting from the Tatler of a group photograph which includes members of the Brooke family, taken at Government House, Singapore, 1 Jul 1925
- (fols. 4-7) printed copies of speech by the Rajah at the General Council meeting [in Kuching], and of a 'Memorandum on the utility of a Forest Service', 1927
- (fols. 8-10) printed copy of speech by the Acting Treasurer on the system of accounting, and notes on the meeting at Astana, 20 Sep 1928
- (fol. 11) directive signed by the Rajah (No. 14 in C.S.O. 501), 20 Nov 1928
- (fols. 12-13A) cutting with photograph of Mrs Brooke in Malayan (Malaysian) dress, and two similar prints, 2 Jun 1929 [?]
- (items 1-3) three articles (typescripts) about a sacred Moslem tunic owned by Mrs Brooke; the first is by M. de Paltov (15 pages), the other two by Professor Castagné, French Foreign Office (18 and 17 pages), 1931 and n.d.
- (fols. 14-37) cuttings and other papers relating to Mrs Brooke's conversion to Islam and her religious beliefs, 26 Nov 1931-1 Apr 1934
- (fol. 38) cutting from the Daily Mirror with photograph of Lieut. T.A.K. Maunsell, RN, and his wife, formerly Elizabeth Brooke, 17 Jul 1934.
Vol. 2, 3 Mar-23 Nov 1939:
- album (pp. 1-45) labelled 'Peter & Kay - Mar 1939', concerning Anthony Brooke and his wife (née Kathleen Hudden), also the Rajah and his family. On pp. 1 and 2 are a telegram and letter (3 and 27 Apr 1939) from Anthony Brooke to his mother about being made Rajah Muda.
