- (fols. 1-4) Sarawak State Advisory Council in England: Proclamation by the Rajah, Sir Charles Brooke, about its constitution, listing the first members whose signatures are appended, 20 Nov 1912
- (fols. 5-6) committee of Administration: Proclamation by the Rajah, and Order No. XXII, 4 Oct 1915
- (fol. 7) label from the original file of correspondence and press cuttings relating to the claim of Esca Brooke Daykin, illegitimate son of Sir Charles Brooke and a Malay woman. He was born in 1867, and after the marriage of Sir Charles in 1869 to Margaret de Windt was sent to England to be educated by a curate at Burrator named Daykin, who adopted him, n.d.
- (fols. 8-16) three letters and a telegram from the Ranee Margaret to Charles Willes-Johnson about the story of Esca Brooke Daykin, which had appeared in the press following the arrival in England of a relative of Daykin's, A.G. Webster, who was determined to pursue Daykin's claim; also a letter of advice from Lord Haldane to the Ranee, which she sent to Willes-Johnson, 26 Jun-10 Aug 1927
- (fol. 17) letter from the Ranee's brother Harry de Windt, who had seen press reports of 'the preposterous claim' [about Daykin], 27 Jun 1927
- (fols. 18-24) letter from Daykin to the Rajah explaining that it had been Webster's suggestion that the case should be raised, with a note [perhaps by Willes-Johnson] refuting the claim, 16 Mar 1928

Aplin, J.A. Smith, and J.C. Swayne, and later of T. Corson, A.A. Rennie, and F.H.
