(fols. 1-178) Manuscript letters, some fragmented, and typed copies, addressed almost entirely to Charles Johnson Brooke, 25 Jan-5 Dec 1868. They are about Sarawak affairs, politics and administration, trade, financial matters, coal mining, the production of Cinnabar and copper ore, with a report of the analysis of samples of Antimony Ores (fols. 17-18); the death in England on 11 Jun 1868 of Sir James Brooke, his Will and family matters connected with it, and the accession of Charles as Rajah.
