Framed photographs of Emily Montagu (née Yonge), 19th century
Two framed photographs, identical, of Emily Montagu (née Yonge) from a chalk drawing.
On the back of the first frame is written 'Mrs. Montagu taken from a life-size chalk portrait done when she [was] the mother of six of her thirteen children'.
On the back of the second frame, in a more modern hand [Daniel Whistler?] is written 'One of 2 identical gold framed oval portraits of Emily (Yong[e]) Montague 1794-1880 (the other identified on the back). See also 2 photos of Emily when elderly on the steps of Caynton Ho[use], Swaffham one with family around her'.
The frames are made from metal and glass. One has broken glass and the other is missing its glass completely. Dimensions: 19.5cm x 15cm.
