Journals from 1945 to 1951 are kept in small engagement diaries. The journal from 1-23 Jan 1952 is on loose leaves from an engagement diary, and from Jun-Dec 1952 it is in a larger volume, one day per page, with cuttings of Rose's 'Peterborough' newspaper column pasted in.
