Housing Policy Group; Housing, Land and Planning Policy Group, Dec 1965-Sep 1968
The Housing Policy Group first met in December 1967, 'to examine the financial and technical aspects of housing with particular reference to the use of subsidies in connection with building by local authorities, to the financial measures needed to assist owner-occupation, to modern developments in building technology and to the financial significance of the balance between public and private building.'
Members included John Boyd-Carpenter, F.V. Corfield, A.P Costain, John M. Temple, Arthur Jones, A.J. Merret, Norman E. Wates, Howard Roberts, Viscount Colville of Culroses, J.R.R. MacGregor.
The Housing, Land and Planning Policy Group met, 'to consider the Party's policy on housing in all its aspects, on town and country planning and on land use; to do so in the light of existing and anticipated legislation up to 1970; and to make recommendations.'
Members included William Deedes, John Stanley, Paul Channon, Maurice Ash, Michael Thorncroft, W.A. West.
