Annual Conservative Party Conference Handbooks, 1871-2019
The annual Party Conference handbook has changed very little in format since 1894. Prior to this, a published Annual Report was presented to Conference delegates by the Central Council of the National Union, and these survive from 1871. The Annual Report (between 1948 and 1965, presented jointly by the Central Council and the Executive Committee, and from 1966 by the Executive Committee alone) continued to be a major component of the Conference Handbook, providing a detailed account of the Party's activities during the preceding year, but it also provided an agenda for the Conference, and a compendium of useful information on the Party, includings lists of Central Office and Area officials, motions presented to Conference by constituency associations, and details of ancillary meetings to be held during Conference. Gaps in chronology indicate that no agenda printed as no conference was held.
