[The Action Committee for the United States of Europe was established on 13/10/1955 with M. Jean Monnet as its president. It supported the principle of enlargement of the European Communities and in 1968 British political parties were invited to join it, with the first meeting in which they were due to participate scheduled for 11/03/1969]
