Academic and other 'serious' writings which were unpublished at the time of Thomas's death in September 2008:

  1. Folder 1: 'The English Model' with translation into French 'Le Modèle Anglais'. Various versions of the paper, with corrections and associated correspondence, 2000-2001. Given as a talk at the Colloque Jean-Jacques Régis Cambacérės, Monpelier, 26 May 2000. A brief summary version was published as 'Le Modèle Anglais: Vie politique et éducation en Grande-Bretagne' in the conference papers.
  2. Folder 2: Other unpublished writings: 'Max Beerbohm, Goethe and Tischbein', c. 1998. Originally intended to be published in English Literature in Transition 1880-1920, 46:3, Jan 2003; 'Letter from Estonia (September 1991', n.d.; 'H.W.C. Garrod (1878-1960), Fellow of Merton College 1901-1060', obituary, n.d.; 'The Earliest Silk in Europe', article, c. 1987. Also includes 'Prince Chlodwig zu Hohenlohe-Schillingsfürst (1819-1901) and the Congress of Berlin, 1878', various versions of short essay, Apr 2008, and 'The British National Anthem', typescript, 1980s, which were published posthumously in the Thomas Braun anthology 'Tomfoolery: Occasional writings by Thomas Braun (1935-2008)'.
