The memoranda are in the handwriting of sir John Cooke, D.C.L.

The following papers, all (except fol. 254) written by sir J. Cooke, are also included:

  1. (fol. 177) Commencement of a reply to [Ferguson's] Review of [Cooke's] Summary view of the case;
  2. (fol. 244) Draught of a letter from Cooke, without an address, on Ferguson's Review, 15 Sep 1703;
  3. (fol. 246) Postscript to Cooke's Summary view, with additions in the handwriting of Dr. Edmund Gibson, afterwards bishop of London;
  4. (fol. 248) Speech of bp. Burnet, as one of the assessors, 3 Aug 1699, the day of Watson's deprivation;
  5. (fol. 254) Speech of archbishop Tenison on pronouncing sentence, with notes and alterations, some of which appear to be in his own hand;
  6. (fol. 269) "A short view of the simony and other crimes charg'd and proved against the late bishop of St. David's."
