Two bundles labelled by Barham, with:

'Political various J.F.B.' These are connected with English politics, go back at least to 1786 and consist mainly of drafts in Barham's hand. Some of the matters referred to are

  1. The possibility of a coalition government in 1801 (?)
  2. A letter to the Prince of Wales
  3. The reform of Parliament
  4. The role of the law in the constitution
  5. The negotiation with the Regent
  6. A letter to Lord Moira
  7. A proposed address to the Prince on the Regency
  8. A paper on the constitutional power of the crown
  9. A letter on the Poole writ

'W Indies Political J.F.B.' mainly drafts by Barham on matters which include the condition of West Indian slaves, their declining numbers, their value, the sugar slump, the need to accord preferences to Colonial over foreign imports
