Dated 20 Nov 1504.

The first page is surrounded with a broad border of floral illumination with the portcullis, and the initial letter contains the royal arms. The binding is of purple velvet (lately renewed according to the old pattern) with central bosses of roses on the sides, portcullises at the eight corners (of which one is wanting), and clasps.

An indenture of the same date, similarly written and bound, for the foundation of a like obit in St. Paul's cathedral, is preserved among bishop Barlow's MSS. in the Bodl. Libr., No. 28. A second similar indenture founding an obit in the convent of St. Alban, London, is preserved in Harl. MS. 28; and another, for an obit in the chapel of St. Mary the Virgin in Westminster Abbey, establishing also the almsmen there, etc., in Harl. MS. 1498, of which an abstract is printed by Astle at the end of his edition of the Will of Hen. VII., in quarto. Lond. 1775.
