Written in the year 1622, and dedicated "ad Franciscum Crane, equitem auratum aulicum," in the following distich: "Take this of worth, I wrott it for your sake; / I will noe more such toylesome studies take. / Tibi soli."

At the beginning and end are two impressions in wax of the seal of the dean of Bicester which was found at Alchester.
