This photographic copy of an illustration of a bird is plate 27 from vol. 1 from William John Swainson's, "Zoological illustrations, or, Original figures and descriptions of new, rare, or interesting animals; selected chiefly for the classes of ornithology, etymology, and conchology, and arranged on the principles of Cuvier and other modern zoologists", London, 1820. The original scientific plates in Swainson's publication were hand-coloured.
