Biographical / Historical

The Orangery was constructed in the 18th century in the Italian Garden on the grounds of the Mount Edgcumbe Country Park, whose grounds and country house are the ancestral seat of the Edgcumbe family. Henry Fox Talbot's half-sister, Lady Caroline, was married to Ernest Augustus Edgcumbe, 3rd Earl of Mount Edgcumbe.
