Biographical / Historical

The General Purposes Committee served as a smaller sub-committee of the wider Advisory Committee. Under the governing documents adopted in 1951, it was comprised of the officers of the Advisory Committee and additional representatives as elected by the Advisory Committee membership. The committee met as and when required to discuss specific matters delegated to it by the Advisory Committee. The General Purposes Committee typically determined the selection of motions for debate at the Annual Women's Conference.
