The National Union of Conservative and Unionist Associations' Central Women's Advisory Committee was established in 1928. It changed its name to the Women's National Advisory Committee in 1951 and again to the Conservative Women's National Committee in April 1982. The committee was responsible for organising the Conservative Women's Conference.
The National Committee continued to operate under the new Conservative Party structure adopted in the late 1990s. In 2007 it was renamed as the Conservative Women's Organisation, under which name it continues to operate today.
