Prefixed is an address by the translator "to the right worshipfull my very good and loving mother the lady Clarke," dated "at Staple Inne, the viii day of July, 1587." The preface of the author is dated "the ides of May, 1541." The speakers in the dialogue are named Almaric and Thautan.
