- 1. the difference of time at twenty-four places throughout the world from each hour of the day and night at London;
- 2. the time of the sun's rising and setting at the same places throughout the year;
- 3. the length of the day and night;
- 4. the time of the sun's coming to the east and to the west, from Mar to Sep inclusive;
- 5. the sun's amplitude at its rising or setting.
