Fols. 1-129: Correspondence with Joseph Houldsworth Oldham about the work of the International Institute of African Languages and Culture, his tour of East Africa with the Hilton Young Commission, the Joint Select Committee on East Africa, the Advisory Committee on Education in Tropical Africa, his visit to Belgium for the Conference on the Christian Mission in Africa 1926, and a post-war policy for Africa.

Included is a letter from Dr Thomas Jesse Jones of the Phelps-Stoke Fund of America about financial support for Oldham, the Report of the President and Secretary of the Carnegie Corporation as to an Educational Programme in Africa and his friendship with Lugard.

There are also copies of Lugard's letters to Sir Maurice Lippens about the Belgian visit.
