  1. Fols. 1-104: Miscellaneous correspondence and papers concerning Lugard's exploration of the Sabaki route and his journey to Uganda, 1890. Correspondents include George Mackenzie, A.W. Mackay, Sir Charles Euan-Smith, Charles Stokes, Dr W.H. Briggs, Emma Brayne and Edward Lugard.

  5. Fols. 109-169: Copies of reports to the Imperial British East Africa Company from Lugard and Wilson, including the report on the Sabaki route, 20 May 1890. The complete reports were printed and can be found in MSS. Brit. Emp. s. 51. Also included are letters to Lugard's father and sisters, because he sent copies of these reports home with personal notes attached.
  6. Fols. 170-240: "A caravan journey in East Africa" - an account by Lady Lugard describing her husband's journey from the coast to Uganda, n.d.
