  1. (fols. 1-12) Op. 17. 'Seven partsongs', words by Bridges. Separately printed by O.U.P. in 1937. Nos. 2, 3 and 6, used by the engraver.
  2. (fols. 13-29) Op. 18. 'Let us garlands bring', 5 Shakespeare songs for low voice and piano or strings. Printed for the birthday of R. Vaughan Williams, 1942. Piano version, marked 'scoring copy', with dates 1928, 1939, and 1940.
  3. (fols. 30-74v) Op. 18. String version, 2 copies. The voice part of the first copy is in the hand of an amanuensis.
  4. (fols. 76-100) Op. 19(a). 'Till Earth outwears', 7 songs by Hardy for tenor and piano with dates 1927-1956. Posthumously printed, for high voice, in 1958. Fols. 84-85 are in the hand of an amanuensis. [See also MS. Mus. b. 43, fols. 52-70].
  5. (fols. 101-109) Op. 21. Interlude for oboe and string quartet. Score. Printed in 1936. [See also MS. Mus. c. 398, fols. 66-84].
  6. (fols. 113-125v) Op. 22. Elegy for violin and piano, headed 'II'. 2 copies, the second revised, and a part for the violinist.
  7. (fols. 127-131) Op. 23. Bagatelles for clarinet and piano. No. 2 only. Printed 1945. [See also MS. Mus. b. 43, fols. 93-112].
