Biographical / Historical

Campaign News was published by the Organisation Department at Conservative Central Office in support of the national 'Link up with the Conservatives' membership recruitment drive which was launched on 1 Sept 1976 and continued until November. The campaign had three main aims:

  1. To recruit into our Party the largest possible number of new subscribing members and to raise the level of individual subscription.
  2. To increase the number of active workers in our Party involved not only in the vital routine tasks, but also playing their part in the way that best suits their talents, interests and time available.
  3. To encourage the Party Organisation at every level to be much more expansionist and outward looking and to concentrate more of its efforts on contacting and influencing people in every walk of life.
