Forty-six letters and papers relating:

  1. (fols. 3-43) to the transference of the facsimiles to the University;
  2. (fols. 1-2, 44-145) to the rev. John Hayter's literary mission.

Among the documents are:

  1. (fols. 4, 18) two letters from lord Grenville, 1810-1811;
  2. (fol.12) one letter from the Prince of Wales, afterwards king George iv, March 9, 1810;
  3. (fols. 16, 50, 56, 67, 74, 108, 117, 119) eight letters and reports from mr. Hayter, 1800-1811 ;
  4. (fols. 22, 61, 70, 106, 112) five letters from Thomas Tyrwhilt, 1801-1811;
  5. (fol. 85) a report on the state of the papyri and the means of unrolling them by prof. Gaetano Maria La Pira, Apr. 13, 1802, in Italian (cf. 91), and several official papers.
