[MS. Mus. Sch. D. 317c] 'This Ode was originally intended for the New-Year 1766, but was postponed on account of the Death of the King's Youngest Brother, and performed on the first of January 1767, by appointment of the Lord Chamberlain.' Prince Frederick William died in London on Dec. 29, 1765.
