Amongst these letters are a batch dated 1898-1925 (items 49-192) which should probably have been filed with those in C166 above.
Comprising letters to Travers Buxton and Sir John Harris (with the exception of items 9 and 223 which are from Harris, and 88 and 174 which are from the Anti-Slavery Society). Their time as Secretary and Organising/Parliamentary Secretary overlapped and for many of the letters there is no clear distinction as to whether they were written to Buxton or Harris. Includes:
- (item 39) copy of a confidential despatch from R. E. Cheesman (Consul ) about slavery in North West Ethiopia, typewritten, 1932
- (item 44a) first annual report on slavery in Abyssinia prepared by His Majesty's Minister at Addis Ababa, printed, 1932

- (item 72-73) copy letter from Bishop Tucker to Colonel Hayes Sadler regarding the Bill for the Abolition of the Legal Status of Slavery in British East Africa, with reply, 1907
