This box holds two files. They both contain letters to Sir John Harris, C. W. W. Greenidge and Lynn Farmer, and carbon copies of their replies and other relevant papers concerning the needs of Africans residing in this country. Many letters deal with loans from the trust fund, either to students or trainees in need or to assist in repatriation of Africans wishing to return to Africa after the war. Other letters deal with the Society's attempts to obtain work for unemployed Africans. Occasionally appeals from West Indians are found here. These letters are arranged under the name of the person for whom the appeal was made.
