'Old Oxford', an extensive collection of notes and extracts chiefly from printed sources relating to the history, topography and old buildings of the city of Oxford, the whole compiled by Mr. Herbert Hurst. To each volume is prefixed an index to its contents and a list of the principal items contained in it: MS. Top. Oxon c. 191 is a general index to the whole. The longer articles in each volume are here given:

  1. Extracts from some printed works on Oxford history, also from Bodleian MSS. nos. 8517 (p. 73) and 8490 (p. 98), and from MS. Twyne 23 in the Oxford University Archives (p. 109)
  2. Press-cuttings and scraps (pp. 45, 473)
  3. Notes of archaeological discoveries made in 1896 occur at pp. 8, 43
