Biographical notes, some autograph, on fols. 1v-6av trace the history of the Burton of Lindley family, who owned the book, from temp. Hen. vi to 1642, beg. 'Ceo est le lyvre Gylyalm Burton iadys le porter dell Baner royall notre sire le Roy Henri d'Engleterre [le sixiesme later]'. There are a few medical recipes on fols. 7v-10.
