The continuation from MS. James 39 of a transcript by Richard James of the fourth distinctio of Walter Map 'de Nugis Curialium' beg. 'Omnis exicio propriae gentis' (p. 1), followed by 'Improperium cujusdam in monachos ex MS. bib. Bod.', being the letter of Theobald of Étampes to Thurstan archbp. of York in MS. Bodl. 561 (cf. MS. James 20, fol. 1) (p. 87), and anecdotes from MS. C.C.C. Oxon., 32, for which see also MS. James 26 (p. 90).
