Letters almost entirely written to Anthony Wood, 1657-95, chiefly on the biography of Oxford writers, some with draughts of the replies. In the following list some entries have been for convenience inserted from MSS. Wood F. 46-51, Ashm. Mus. c. 1, the whole series forming the bulk of the papers on which Wood's Atheme Oxonienses is based. They do not however satisfactorily allow of summary treatment.

The chief writers are:

  1. Dale, Robert (8), 1687-94 (fol. 2).
  2. Davenport, Christopher ('Fr. Hunt', 'Mr. Santa Clara': 18), 1670-2 (fol. 24: MS. Wood F. 50, fol. 1).
  3. Dodwell, Henry (3), 1683 (fol. 56).
  4. Dugdale, sir William (70), 1667-84 (fol. 65).
  5. Elys, Edmund (10), 1690-3 (fol. 188: MS. Wood F. 48, fol. 979).
  6. Evelyn, John (2), 1691 (fol. 222).
  7. Freind, Nathaniel (11), 1669-92 (fol. 248).
  8. Fulman, William (78), 1671-87 (fol. 267).
