(8585) 17th-cent. genealogical notes from MSS. in the Heralds' Office, by Anthony à Wood. Given to Wood by Richard Reeves of Magdalen college, Oxford, 1673, of which a better MS. is in MS. Aubrey 21. Written in divers hands of the 17th century, 154 pages.

  1. Fol. i. An account by Wood of Worcester cathedral, with lists of deans, prebendaries, and archdeacons since 1500, from material received from mr. William Hopkyns, prebendary of Worcester
  2. Fol. 17. notes of 16th-cent. institutions, etc., from a Norwich register, followed by lists of priors and deans of Norwich (fol. 29)
  3. Fol. 34. sir Thomas Browne's 'Repertorium, or some account of the tombes, monuments, etc., in the cathedral church of Norwych an. 1680', printed from the original among the posthumous works (1712)
  4. Fol. 50. autograph travel-notes by Ralph Sheldon, 1668-9, concerning Lyons, Florence, and Rome
  5. Fol. 67. heraldic notes concerning creations of knights of the garter and baronets since the restoration, and (fol. 87) fees due at the creation of noblemen
  6. Fol. 97. statutes given by Savile for the geometry and astronomy professors, of his own creation, 1619
  7. Fol. 104. excerpts from the register of John Halton, bishop of Carlisle (1293-1318), printed for the Canterbury and York Society
  8. Fol. 111. the names of all resident doctors and M.A.s in 1616
