Collection made up of 3 MSS:
- Fol. 4. 'A shorte view of the state & condicion of the kingdome of Irelande from ... 1640 to this tyme, or, a Vindication of his late Majesty of blessed memory ...', as far as 'unlesse those deliver'd to' in § 111 of the 1849 edition, in lord Clarendon's own hand. The treatise is an answer to bp. N (icholas) F (rench)'s Narrative of the Earl of Clarendon's settlement and sale of Ireland, (Louvain, 1668). A note by bp. J (ohn) D (ouglas) is on fol. 3
- Fol. 28-33. A copy by W. Edgeman of part of the same, from 'giue orders and directions' in § 80 to 'soe good a countenance upon the' in § 96
- Fol. 34. A copy of the Short View, made in about 1660 (?), with a motto on the first leaf in lord Clarendon's hand: from which the first edition was printed in 1720. This copy is probably a Carte MS. and is endorsed 'His Grace the Duke of Ormonds papers.'
