Calendar, vol. i., papers nos. 1667-1731. No. 1669 is also an account of the siege of Scarborough, which ended on 22 July 1645: no. 1683 is to col. N. Fiennes: in 1686 for Pym read Pyne: in 1716 for 'Star Chamber' read 'Committee sitting in the Star Chamber': in 1719 for Lansford read Lunsford: the date of the papers is shortly after July 5, 1643, and they contain Waller's refusal to treat with Hopton).
Part of the chronological series of Clarendon State Papers, dealing chiefly with English history from 1608 to 1689, with a few earlier and later. The printed Calendar, see introduction, stops at the end of 1657, but is continued in manuscript as far as about 1663. The papers themselves are from almost all parts of the successive Clarendon donations.
