Custodial History

'24th May 1714 borrowed this MS. of mr. J. Chicheley of the Midle Temple by me J. Urry': 'For the possession of this curious MS. I am indebted to the kindness of Mr Smith apothecary at Chertsey, who rescued it from the hands of the keeper of a chandler's shop in that town who had begun to cut it in shreds to make labels. F. Douce 1787'.
