Collections by the rev. John Hutchins (d. 1773) towards a history of Dorset: An account of Sherborne stated on the (modern) binding to be by -- Smith, but the handwriting is that of Hutchins, and the notes of which the account consists are in his style, being marked as he was accustomed to mark his own papers: on fol. 1 is 'Mr. Smith's account of Sherborn sent to the Antiquary Society 1756'; which is probably a memorandum and not a title.
Still the notes here put down or transcribed are not in the form in which the account of Sherborne is printed in Hutchins' Dorset.
