A Carmelite Ordinal, Written in about A.D. 1500 in Italy
A Carmelite Ordinal, consisting of:
- 'Kalendarium ad normam eorum quæ acta fuerunt in Comitijs Generalibus reformatum' (fol. 1)
- 'Ordinale horarum canonicarum fratrum sacri ordinis semperque [sic] Virginis Marie de Monte Carmelo, extractum et excerptum de approbato Dominici Seppulchri sancte Hierosolimitane ecclesie ...' (fol. 9a)
- Litany, 'Officium defunctorum', 'Officium seu commemoratio Virginis Marie' (fol. 36v)
- Proprium de Tempore (fol. 43v)
- 'Officia propria de Sanctis' (fol. 133v)
- 'Commune Officium de Sanctis' (fol. 193v)
There are some musical notes. The colophon is torn, and only the following fragment is left '... [fi]eri fecit ... [sanc]ti Andre[e] ... atanus ... deuotio ... i conuen ... etc. Ad ... [Dei omnip]otentis... [Tho ?]mas Venetus.' The references in the calendar to the usages of Carmelite convents in Rome and Ravenna point to the latter place as a probable source of the volume.
