In 1974 the Department of Trade & Industry was split up by the incoming Labour Government to form the Department of Trade, the Department of Industry, and the Department of Prices & Consumer Protection. Until 1983, most briefs for these departments appear to have been filed under the Parliamentary Commerce Committee - see Series CRD/B/4, above.
