Op. 72. 'Finale 1mo .. .' and 'Finale 2do aus der Oper Leonore von Beethoven', the second (1806) version, 1806
Copyist's full score, in the hand of Carl Wilhelm Inten (1799-1877), bassoonist at the Gewandhaus [information from Ralf Wehner, Feb 2003]. Much cut by the binder: see fol. 106, 'Tromboni al Fine', and traces of original pagination. There are included additional parts for trombones, trumpets and timpani on fol. 72, 'Nachtrag zu no. 11' for fol. 53v; on fol. 130 'Nachtrag zum Finale von Seite 47' (now fol. 97); and on fol. 131v 'Nachtrag Allegro molto. pag 65' (now fol. 106). Probably a page-for-page replica, without the additional dynamic markings, of the manuscripts at the Gewandhaus, Leipzig, described by Willy Hess, Beethoven. Supplemente zur Gesamtausgabe XIII, 1970, pp. XXI and XXV; see also pp. 139-40, where the trombone parts on fols. 72-73 of this manuscript are printed.
