In addition to notes on the literature, there are notes of problems or ideas for future research as suggested to Coulson by colleagues' lectures or publications, by conversation or by correspondence. Some of the notes are very brief, but some extend to 4-5 numbered pages, perhaps intended for an informal discussion paper.
